Strategic Partnership / Ongoing business & brand strategic advisory

Keep the ambition connected to the work.

Give your leadership team a strategic partner as important decisions move into the work. GRPL keeps commercial priorities, positioning and delivery connected, with a defined role and clear responsibilities.

An agreed advisory role, working rhythm and set of responsibilities. Matt Gudge leads the strategic relationship. Your team and named specialists own the delivery agreed for the engagement.

Talk about Strategic Partnership

What you receive

A written engagement remit, agreed working rhythm and shared record of strategic decisions, priorities and actions. Specific reviews, briefs or advisory outputs are named in the scope. We revisit that remit as the business and delivery requirements develop.

Useful when you’re

Giving a leadership team an independent commercial and creative perspective

Keeping several projects or partners aligned to one strategic direction

Supporting growth decisions as the evidence and opportunity evolve

The decisions and the work

A direction you
can put to work.

01

A clear strategic reference point

The agreed position and commercial priorities remain visible in decisions about brand, offers, marketing and investment. We help leadership judge new opportunities against what the business is trying to achieve.

02

Better direction for the people delivering

Useful briefs, constructive challenge and strategic review at agreed points. Teams and partners understand the purpose of the work and have a clear place to resolve questions.

03

A rhythm for progress and decisions

A regular review of agreed priorities, evidence and measures. Decisions, responsibilities and next actions are recorded so the conversation leads to work people can carry forward.

Illustrative scope

Carry a new position into the business.

Support leadership as a new position moves through sales, website and partner activity. Review agreed briefs and work at decision points, help resolve competing priorities and keep the program connected to its commercial objective.

This example provides strategic direction and review. Day-to-day project management, staff management and production need explicit scope, capacity and ownership.

What we need from you

  • A leadership sponsor, clear objectives and access to the agreed decision forums.
  • Relevant briefs, progress information and commercial measures to review together.
  • Named internal and external delivery owners, with authority and capacity to act on decisions.

How we work together

Agree the question.
Build the direction.

01

Define the role

We agree the commercial objectives, decisions GRPL will support, people involved and boundaries of the engagement. Access, meeting rhythm and outputs are explicit from the start.

02

Work alongside leadership

We bring commercial judgement and creative challenge to the agreed forums. Between them, we undertake the specific reviews, briefs or advisory work included in the scope.

03

Review and adjust

We assess progress together and update priorities as the business learns. Changes to responsibilities or delivery requirements are discussed and scoped deliberately.

Matt Gudge leads the strategic relationship. Where additional expertise is useful, we agree the relevant specialist partners and responsibilities with you. Your team and named partners own delivery. Capacity and scope are agreed.

Useful
questions.

How is strategic advisory different from a fractional CMO?

The distinction is the agreed responsibility. GRPL’s strategic partnership supports defined commercial and brand decisions. An operating marketing leadership role may also own budgets, people, execution and performance. If you need those responsibilities, they must be explicitly scoped with the capacity to fulfil them.

Who is accountable for implementation?

The engagement names the owner of each delivery responsibility. GRPL leads the agreed strategy and advisory contribution. Your people and specialist partners own the implementation assigned to them. We establish this before work starts.

Is this a fractional CMO role?

It is a defined strategic partnership. Day-to-day marketing management, staff management and execution are included only when explicitly agreed. The role is built around the decisions your business needs support with.

Can we keep our existing team and partners?

Yes. The engagement is designed around your business. We clarify the contribution GRPL makes alongside the people already responsible for delivery.

Do we need to complete The Read first?

No. If the direction and requirements are already clear, we can scope a partnership directly. If important choices need resolving, we will recommend addressing those first.
